For the man who lives well (not loudly)
Happy V day lovers.
I’m starting with the most painful category of all and it doesn’t need to be Valentines Day - it could be a birthday, a Christmas, a ‘just-because’ day.
Men are the hardest to buy for especially when they’re the cute, I don’t wear overbearing brands on my t-shirt, type.
Gift giving is all about giving gifts you know the other person will love and could potentially purchase for themselves but we both know they’re selfless and they won’t. That’s where you come in.
This gift guide does house some luxury gifts, but I’ve tried to focus largely on quality.
I think it’s time we apply the 5 gift rule:
Something they want (we touched on this)
Something they need (A practical gift, i.e. better quality versions of what they already have)
Something to wear
Something to read
Something fun/an experience
So without further ado, standing tall in the something they may want category:
RM Williams Craftsman Boot - Perfect for the man that loves quality over quantity. It will never be an ‘in-trend’ boot, because it’s absolutely timeless. Your man can wear them now, or in 10 years to come. You can also add monogramming for a more personal touch.
Calibre Perfume - Okay hear me out.. I know there’s Chanel Bleu, Paco Rabanne Invictus, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Creed Aventus, Dior Savage etc…
but you’re telling me you haven’t found yourself waiting for your man in a Calibre store, smelling their perfumes while he’s trying on shirts? No? Well I’ve done it for you and can confirm there are some great scents.. Definitely suggest Day Drunk and Morning Glory for obvious reasons.
Bottega Veneta Wallet - For the classy man that appreciates the finer things in life, has impeccable taste, but doesn’t boast about it. More of - if you know, you know. This one doesn’t scream luxury, she’s quite subtle about it.
Adidas Sneakers - An unspoken rule between counterparts is that if the shoe fits, they’ll wear it.
Or something along the lines of, a sneaker is always the easiest option. I suggest opting for something durable, something he can wear often and will be versatile alongside any outfit. I’d also suggest something comfortable, the BW Army ‘Earth Strata’ Sneakers seem comfortable and are my idea of basic. There’s nothing wrong with basic here.
Something they may need: Think everyday essentials..
A Reusable Coffee Cup - Is he a coffee drinker? A quality reusable cup says “I pay attention to what you actually use and enjoy.” It’s personal in a quiet, practical way.
Overnight Duffle Bag or Toiletries Bag - Avoid this one if he has multiple bags, we’re living minimally here. No waste! If he is in dire need of a new one because it’s breaking at the seams then try out the below options:
Black Zip Coated Washbag
Country Road $119
Grooming Essentials - Aesop tends to feel premium, considered, and a bit luxurious.
BBQ Accessories - Because real men smell like a BBQ
Something to wear: (Including underneath)
A Quality White Tee - Again, if he has a hundred of these then disregard or if his are old and frail then it’s time for a new addition.
Undies - Is there a more sophisticated way to say it? There’s alot of quality options on the market but careful they may find extreme comfort in Skims.
A Good Pair of Sunglasses - This one may be hard, because alot of men are quite particular. If you’ve been with your partner for a while then I suppose you can risk it.
Denim - What’s the old saying, “Well-worn denim, well-lived life”
Something to read: My personal favourite, and my personal recommendations. See Dymocks book staff for more details…
Something fun/an experience:
Does he like eating oysters? What about shucking oysters?

Or does he prefer a weekend away?
Omnia Retreat - “Omina Retreat offers luxury accommodation crafted for relaxation and connection.”
Megalong Valley - “Built as a luxury retreat from the rush of everyday life, this cabin is designed for slow mornings, starry nights, and quiet moments surrounded by nature.”
Cupitts Estate - “Experience bespoke winery accommodation on the NSW South Coast”
