Hot Cross Buns
Tis the season.
Specifically between March and April, a dedicated three weeks to carb out on some Hot Cross buns! We’ve found our favourite buns you’d drool over, across Sydney, and they are seemingly getting more creative each year…
Starting strong and in no particular order:
Bar Mammoni x Messina
Messinatella Chocolate Hazelnut spread, chocolate crumble, candied citrus.
Baked in house - available from 23 March to 10 April.
AP Bakery
Four-day fermentation (say less) made with local candied fruit.

Baker Bleu
BB have created a Sour Cherry and Dark Chocolate flavour alongside their Traditional Hot Cross buns both of which are sourdough specialties.
Sour Cherry & Dark Chocolate ($28.20 for a box of 6) spiced with fresh ginger. Made with 66% Dark Belgian chocolate.
Traditional Hot Cross Bun ($25.20 for a box of 6) with sourdough and Australian fresh orange, raisins, ginger and spices.
Humble Bakery
Traditional Hot Cross Buns with a blend of raisins, sultanas and cranberries throughout the dough, orange peel and their in-house ground spice mix. Topped with their spiced glaze! Mmm..baked fresh daily.

Now this is something you’ll want to bring to Easter…

Sonoma
Sonoma’s “not” cross buns are their take on the traditional style with aromatic spiced fruit buns with plump raisins, cranberries, apricots and candied orange finished with a sticky sweet glaze.

Not a Hot Cross Bun, but an Easter Bun… made with Brioche, infused with rosemary and cardamom and studded with currants. Glazed with egg wash and dusted with sugar containing orange zest, rosemary and cinnamon. WOW, no words.
